Seriously, why is he getting the shaft by the coach? Did he play that poorly in his few games? You got Clowe playing like dung and Mitchell screwing up offensive possessions left and right, yet TJ gets benched. Did I miss something in his play over the past couple games that warrants a healthy scratch?

No, you didn't miss anything. Galiardi doesn't have a chance of displacing anyone in the top six currently except Wingels and well, Wingels play of late has been nothing short of exceptional. He isn't a 4th liner and isn't effective in that role. He's also not strong at either the center or right wing position. That leaves only the 3rd line LW spot to which the coaching staff prefers Winnik. Can't say I blame them as Winnik's play has also been very good. Galiardi's only chance is if the coaching staff moves one of the current top six to the 3rd line to try and gain some scoring depth. IMO I really wouldn't mind seeing Clowe dropped down and going with a 2nd line of Galiardi - Couture - Wingels. Or move Marleau to the 2nd and go with a 1st of Galiardi - Thornton - Pavelski.
