Like I said before, perfect game or no, that was one of the best catches I've ever seen. The pressure just made it that much better but it would have been awesome in a 10-3 game.

Glad to see Posey run and pick the pitcher up this time instead of jumping into the pitchers arms.

Just a tad-bit more manly...

I'm gonna pick a nit here--

On Sharks catch it seemed to me that Oxy got a bad jump and took a mediocre route to the ball.

We need Shark in CF

Somebody needs to "Angels in the Outfield" enhance that gif. I'm a spiritual guy, though not a religious man (yay for agnostics).....but sometimes things like this make you think we get a little extra help sometimes.....

I know everybody has been saying it, but that truly felt like October/November of 2010.

EDIT: Congrats to you too tzill, must have been an awesome feeling/memory.

I've seen a lot of baseball in my time and that has the be one of the greatest (if not THE greatest) catches ever made. From the video that MSG posted I counted 15 or 16 full strides (not sure if any before the camera pans to him) before he actually lays out for the ball. 16 full strides at his speed .... can't imagine the ground that he actually covered to reach the ball ..... I'm guessing at least 60 feet

In 2013 he'll be there. Quentin in left, Melky in right, Oxy signed somewhere else because we can't afford all of them.

Congrats to Cain, the giants and all their fans. I got to watch it all last night. It was a weird feeling watching history happen right in front of me.

Bucket list:

Giants win the world series - check
Giant pitcher throws a pefect game - check

That is why I love baseball. From the 7th inning on, on every ball hit and every 3-2 pitch it's "Oh,no!"...."Please?"...."YES, YES, YES!!!"...followed by a very sincere "Thank you, thank you, thank you."

Jon Miller made a comment on the post game show that it would have been an easier catch for Blanco if he had been right-handed (at least that is what I think he said). I think for a right-handed right fielder the catch would have been harder. It would seem that for a left-handed center fielder, the same would be true (the catch would be harder). But since I was never a very good ball player (loved to play but always the last to be picked), I defer to those that have skill.

I've never seen a right fielder cover that much ground to make a catch. I had switched to the MLB network's feed at that moment, and they, like myself, thought the perfecto was over, but when Blanco got there and made the catch, the MLB guys literally screamed. At least I think they did, maybe that was me?

I was doing the same thing! Usually I'd throw in a Giant player's name. "GET THERE MELKY. GET THERE MELKY! (pause) YES!" (followed by a huge deep breath)

And he didn't just run it down. He had to do a slight lunge at the end to snag it. Just incredible.
