Agreed. He's 36 next week. Over 2700 career innings. I admire him, and his words now, but, c'mon.
On the other hand, ya gotta admire Mariano Rivera - 43 years old to rehab like he did, and now he has 11 saves already, second in the AL, with a 2.19 ERA. His was a knee injury, but still - amazing. He is a hugely admirable person, on and off the field.
So we get two walks so far this inning, and the rookie FPOMs.
I would have told him we would send him down again if he didn't take the first two pitches.
