Cain allows just 7.69 base runners per nine innings, the lowest mark in the National League. Per Elias, he has held an opponent scoreless in 12 of 13 innings after his own team scored, which is telling in two ways. Nice job by Cain, but man, kind of brutal that the offense has only scored in 13 innings in his eight starts.

Assuming he stays healthy, Melky is going to get paid...This will be his one big contract. These things take time.

That said, I hope management is working on a possible deal. He is indeed Massive...That guy can do everything. Exactly the kind of guy you want playing at ATT.

As long as Melky stays true to conditioning, I won't mind giving him a good contract. If he just wants to get that contract and stop working then no thanks.
