I'm just throwing it out there, but is it possible that Smith looked bad early because he was throwing to Edwards and there's a lack of familiarity there? Edwards is likely more explosive and quicker than any of our other WRs, and both throws to him were behind. It's possibly a speed Smith just isn't used to.
