I wonder if Thornton is playing with a lower body injury? He kept falling down during the game or maybe its a skate issue. Either way Thornton has to raise his level of play.

Yes about 5lbs of sand in his mangina is causing itching and burning

That was fucking pathetic. Wow.

This team is garbage. Not even going to bother to watch any of their playoff games. What's the point?

EDIT: I'm only going to watch if they drop to 7th to play the Ducks. They have no chance against Kings/Blues/Canucks/Hawks.

Lets see how the next 3 games go. I think if the Sharks end the regular season on a winning streak, I believe they can match up well against anyone from the west. Maybe not Chicago or F'ing Columbus in the 1st round, but anything can happen in the 2nd rounds. Best case scenario about limiting travel would be to face the Kings in the first round.

Yeah, they'll limit travel alright, because they will probably only need to fly between LA->SJ once... :L

I see alot of bagging on Thornton and rightfully so, but I don't see much out of that other 7+ million dollar anchor Patty Marleau right now either. 1 goal and 4 assists this month ain't going to cut it imo. He needs to get his production going again here soon.

Every line but the Marleau line is getting worked. And after watching the Hannan-Stuart pairing no one should ever complain about Demers again.

I guess this was directed toward me, since I am and still am a Demers hater and have complained about him on here recently. Hannon should retire. Flat out old. But Demers. The guy has been in and out of the lineup for 3 years. I am waiting for him to take the next step. I just don't see it happening. Just my opinion.

Ill give marleau a pass simply because that line is shutting down other teams top lines and havlat and couture are producing so they are doing something right. Thornton is sucking everywhere and not producing

Yeah, take a look at who Marleau's line plays against every single fucking night for the past ~2 months.

Answer: the other team's top line.

While Thornton's line plays sheltered, cupcake minutes -- and they still suck at it. They should be dominating most shifts out there.

What's even sadder about that line is Burns is the best forward on it and he's a defenseman lol Wingels might be having a bad year but its not from a lack of effort

Not directed at you, just a general statement for all who have complained about his play. When he's been in the line up he's posted the best advanced stats of any dman on the team. He's had his share of brain farts but for the most part has been solid defensively and is second only to Burns (when Burns was a dman) at moving the puck in transition. Yes, with Boyle's poor play this year Demers has passed him in this regard. His problem is he seems to get a lot of little injuries that keep him out a few games here and there. I also think showing up to camp way out of shape last year and his poor play that resulted from that perminately stuck him in McLellan's dog house. Give Demers the same oppertunities Boyle gets and I think he'd put up 35-40 points.

Marleau is more than earning his paycheck with the role he's been put in these past couple of months. He's the primary defensive forward on a line that's matching up against other teams top scoring lines. While he may not be recording as many points as some would like his line is producing goals and more often then not out producing whomever they are matched up against and Marleau is a big reason for that. Not to mention his defensive play this entire year has been Selke calibre.
