Back in the Day, an OG PS3, could do these 2 things a XBox couldnt and cant....
1. Play PS1, PS2, and PS3 games, so all your old games were still usable on the new Console.
2. Blue Ray Player

If you wanted the most bang for your Buck, the PS3 was it.

For someone like me who has games I still play on PS1 and PS2 this was the greatest feature, of course Sony stopped making em like this...

Thats the version of the PS3 I have it also has more ports for controllers then the new ones and another compartment for memorie sticks and camera cards.You can still get them on EBay and other store sights in bundles you just have to specify backward compatable in your search.A lot of people will jack the price up but by searching out certain bundles that are left over you can find them at a reasonable price.I read somewhere the reason for the change was because the parts sony used are also useed in scud missiles the government bought the copyright on the part and jacked up the price on it so Sony would be losing money by using that part.I'll post some links to where you can find backwards compatable ps3's tommorow.

It all depends on what you're use to and what you grew up with. I grew up with PS controllers, but it doesn't take much to get use to the Xbox ones IMO.

1 - They make "Pong" in 3D now. It's called playing in traffic. You should try it sometime.
