You made up the whole island was purgatory thing. That did not happen.
I didn't make it up. The show's writing apparently convinced millions of people of that. A magical island that can't be found, where the characters of conflicting morality go through an adventure to be later judged and appropriately move onto their eternal fate... sounds like... what?

Stick to Game of Thrones. It combined good acting, direction and writing (Seasons 1-6 anyway) and didn't wussy out on its ending. There is a lot more goodwill for a GoT prequel/sequel happening than even a LOST remake.

I said it from the first binge of five episodes: Lost is Purgatory.

A number of them got off the island and interacted with people. I don't know what to tell you because it wasn't confusing.

You win. Awesome show. Walt's fate is clear. Etc.
You know you lost the argument when you throw these strawman arguments at me that have nothing to do with what we are talking about. As I already said, just because I'm correcting something you completely misinterpreted doesn't mean it was a perfect show. It can have flaws and not be purgatory believe it or not.

GoT completely overshadowed the last episode of Big Bang. However, Big Ban Theory fans are not depressed.

Plus them managing to make you feel sad for the dragon trying to wake up Dany.

Yep.
When I heard Drogon scream when Dany was stabbed, then he was nudging Daenerys ... ugh. Had it gone on uch longer before he decided to burn the throne, I probably would have cried.

The season suffered from some very basic problems that every other problem flowed from:
1 Jon and Dany are in love, unsubstantiatedly.
2 Dany isn’t a liberator, she goes mad #cuzreasons

These basic GIANT problems left Jon acting very stupidly and fecklessly.
They made Dany’s character unbelievable.
They made Tyrion and Varys conclusion-jumpers and foolish.
They left Cersei with literally nothing to do but try to buttress Dany’s new character motivation.
It made Jon have a fake crisis of conscience when the right answer, his duty, was clear... leading to that out-of-place ‘love is the end of Duty’ convo with Tyrion.

Jon and Dany’s Love was never justified, and therefore made the CRITICAL CLIMACTIC PLOT TURN aloof.
DANY was never going to turn mad, which made the ENTIRE DRIVING FORCE OF THE CLIMAX aloof.
It’s just really really bad writing

Someone petitioning to get an ending changed is a much bigger nerd than I could ever be.

"We demand you spend millions of dollars redoing the ending or........oh that's right we don't have shit to hold over anyone"
I have a hard time believing anyone actually thinks the petition will do anything. It’s just people voicing their displeasure with a show they invested 78 hours of their life to.

LOST painted itself into a corner by blatantly lying to its viewers. "No, it's not Purgatory!" they told fans early on. Several style-but-no-substance episodes later, in the finale, the big reveal is yeah, it's been Purgatory all along. About the only worse way to treat your fans is the St. Elsewhere / Life on Mars ending, where the show admits that everything you just saw was a fake plot line in the mind of an autistic / computer.

LOST wasn't purgatory all along. Everything that happened on the island actually happened to living people. The only part that was purgatory were the scenes about the alternate reality where the plane never crashed (or "flash-sideways") in the final season. That was purgatory, which was indeed anticlimactic.
