I've always hated these arguments. Just because a show isn't grounded in 100% nonfiction doesn't mean that you can't point out the flaws.

Of course people can point out flaws. But arguing about battle tactics when fighting the undead, or how everyone got to King's Landing so quickly is kinda silly.

They missed TWO water bottles in that scene.

If you look closely, I believe you can clearly see Winterfell Springs on the bottles.....

I don't quite get why everyone is only blaming the writers when everyone also knows there was no reason to shorten the last two seasons except for not wanting to pay the actors for that many more episodes (hardly the writers' decision).

This.

It simply became too expensive

I have no doubt Kit worked his tail off in the battle scenes but Lena was pretty absurd in what she was paid as to screen time.

I do wish they would have had a military mind involved in writing the late battles, but I never minded the time warping.

Or they could have just found the hand and maybe the crown and brought to the imp in his cell. he cries, then talks to jon. BTW, I did like his chat with jon.

Like I said, nit picking is what we do.

He could have just checked to see if the boat was gone or not first. When he saw it was still there, he would have known they were dead. Probably not as dramatic as actually finding them but would have made more sense.

They should have just had more bricks everywhere. I'm nowhere near the most critical of things like that but even I was thinking that they would have been fine if they just stood in most other places. I don't watch a show looking to nitpick things but also don't like being taken out of the moment by things like that. That being said, that was the biggest complaint I had about the finale.

Also, why was Drogon trying to wake up Dany so sad?

Episode ratings by IMDB's users:

I'd probably switch episode 3's rankings with episode 6 personally but that looks about right. I think it just took awhile for people to realize that the final season was a total rush job.

There is a better argument for making it 20 episodes than 6 episodes but it certainly needed to be 10. I do think that the ending of the show is going to be the same as whatever the ending of the book will be.

I still don't like Dany being evil. They could've done everything based on people thinking Dany was evil and had the best of both worlds. Instead they fractured the fanbase and ruined the legacy of the franchise.

The Night King episode is the shark jumping, though.

I think he's going to true north to be free and live with free folk.

Don't think anyone will much care be abandoned the NW

Well the first problem was the entire wall was up again. Did it really get destroyed by the night king vision? Sure seems like a wall of ice would take centuries for nature to build.

The second problem was I figured going north would be nothing but but ice and snow not the trees trees, which looked like where Jon met with those past invaders that clearly seemed like it was south. He met them to discuss surrender, he went north of the wall to find the dead soldier to show Cersei. If those two episodes showed anything I doubt he was going north.

I have to disagree with this.

For the battle of the bastards, Jon and Davos took the time to explain to Tormund a pincer move and such. They had a sound strategy. Blackwater Bay with the wildfire trap was sound strategy. All the schemes of Littlefinger were sound strategies.

If you know that you mess up and risk losing an entire army and then having them join the ranks of the undead, maybe not such a good idea. At least tell us that Jon/Dany discussed sacrificing the Dothraki as a way of getting the NK to be overconfident and drawing him out....

The positioning of ballista and the Unsullied was also questionable, but at least have them discuss why they need to do it.... they spent six seasons going over every detail, and then they just want to gloss over them to finish the story.

Sometimes it's the little things that all add up in the end.

What's funny is basically Jon abandoned his post as soon as he got there. Instead of rejoining the NW, he dipped out North of the Wall to go live with the Free Folk.

Jon never promised to take the black again. He did not even agree with Tyrion when he was told to do that. That was just one of Tyrion's little lies to Grey Worm to get out of the situation. Jon was not punished at all. He would have went back to north of the wall either way. My guess is that he is going to visit that cave again.

Saggy titties and eyes too far apart

2/10

If you are looking at the eyes, you are missing the pointies…. err points. I have been married long enough to see 34Cs go to 42 longs, so that sag is minimal. :suds:

I agree with the 20 episodes or so. Night King deserved a season then tyne rest deserved a season.

This wouldn't even have necessitated lying
GW: Hey Jon, why did she decide to take off with Drogon?

Jon: Oh she didn't. I told her she'd always be my queen, kissed her, and then stabbed her by surprise. She's dead.

I was okay with the Dany heel turn, but I think we just needed more situations for when she was wavering between good and evil from earlier episodes. It could have been clever writing if after losing Jorah or Missandei that she complain of headaches and/or a ringing in her ears. When the bells go off at Kings Landing, that's the final straw and she cracks.

It would have also been clever writing if she had these headaches all along, kind of a sign of her struggle against turning evil. When there are visions of the mad king, maybe ring the bells there. But, there was no evidence of any bells anywhere in the story/episodes until S8E5. Would have been great foreshadowing and symbolic of her losing that battle.

The NK only destroyed one section of the wall, not the entire wall

I thought the Winterfell Wight Ale was named a bit too soon.
