Okay, someone help me out with the whole "Spoiler" thing. It has been said more than once in this thread that once the episode is aired, enter at your own risk... I don't mean to be "spoiling" anything if I am, but I assume I am not?

I'm just trying to be a little careful just for the night of the episode. People should know better than to open the thread if they haven't watched it yet, but whatever.

I get that... I'm more looking at the writing and how we go through all of this for 7 and 1/2 seasons with this menace, only to have it wiped out in 2 seconds. Almost thinking it would have been wiser to pull the Dothraki and the Unsullied back to fuckin' Dorne and just have Theon, Arya and Bran sit in the little grove waiting for the Night King. Sure, we'd still lose Theon, but so what?

but this is why we have 3 more episodes.

1. Reunion
2. Last Rites
3. Redemption (Song) One up to Bobby...
4. Aftermath?

I think Drogon got pin cushioned quite a bit by Dany falling asleep at the wheel there, but pretty sure he escaped.

Perhaps that is part of the problem here. They did a poor job of making us understand why the NK gave a shit about Bran/3ER in the first place. I still don't get it, and now? It doesn't matter.

Not only that. For the whole series they have talked about "the prince that was promised", Lightbringer and what's needed to defeat Winter/The others. None of that was important.

Multiple tactical errros

1. Just sacrifice your best fighters right off the bat?? Literally all Dothraki got fucked over

2. The plan to protect Bran was to have like 8 guys surround him with bows and arrows at ground level and when they run out it’s game over? Theon has to kill like 80 guys by himself only to see 500 more waiting for him. Poor guy.

It worked I guess. But boy was that a murky plan.

Not only that. For the whole series they have talked about "the prince that was promised", Lightbringer and what's needed to defeat Winter/The others. None of that was important.

In fact, it seems everyone with a flaming blade got extinguished in a BIG ass hurry too...

Ok so what the fuck is up with the symbol the white walkers were always using? Arranging body parts, dead horses, etc into that spiral. We’ve seen it all over the place all throughout the whole series and now the the walkers are gone and no explanation.

I mean hell, he provided an excuse for the camera to show us where Viseryon was, I guess... But I didn't think Bran was there simply for OUR benefit...

yeah, you'd think that'd go away as well.

on to other things i thought might have happened with the alternate storyline. the hound and the mountain seemed like something that was going to happen. mountain is already some kind of fucked up, thought there was a chance he would have became a wight or something for that battle. either way, rewatching the series, he was always pretty much a positive character.
