That score was 20-18, but until the TD at the end of the game, the defense was so lights out the Patriots only TD came on the heels of a short field gifted by a Hilman mental mistake to not follow through on what was ruled a backward pass. When the Pats had to go the whole field they either punted, settled for FGs or turned it over. That was a banner performance by the defense, especially in the second half when they didn't get much help from the O.

Manning wasn't great, but he threw 2 TDs, tripling his home TD total for the season.

Honestly though, I just have to tip my cap to Wade Philips. That man called a hell of a game. And where JDR would have sat back and played prevent, with the game on the line Philips let the dogs loose and got after Brady all the way through the end.

The Panthers look to be dismantling the Cardinals right now but we have a fighting chance with the way this defense has played.

Honestly ikf, I feel better about the Broncos' defense facing the Panthers' offense than I did against the Patriots'.

^ My wife asked me which of these NFC teams I wanted to see the Broncos face. Honestly it's "pick your poison." Already the comments are starting: We have no chance against the Panthers. Love it!

First off, wasn't saying trade DT just Sanders value is sometimes ignored. That said, his production wouldn't be as good without a viable wr on opposite side. As far as Rio in control, Denver would of lost this game by 20+ pts.

I was just about to start a thread titled, "Panthers" to ask/suggest that many fans will be picking the Panthers to blow us out, as they are dominating the Cardinals. I wonder what the Vegas lines are going to look like, to start, and then as we get closer to the Super Bowl. They will, of course, reflect the opinions of the masses, not those of the schooled, knowledgeable fans.

They just gave Ron Rivera a Gatorade bath - celebrating one game too early. By contrast, the Broncos are still all business.

Here's some advice. You want to win the superbowl?

Wear the white uniforms.

So the Carolina Panthers finished 15-1 and jumped out to a 31-0 lead against the Seahawks in the Divisional Round only to leave the door wide open and allow the Seahawks to make it a tidy 31-24 final score and respectable loss. Then they just completely dismantled the Cardinals tonight. 49-15 and more turnovers than a bakery. The Broncos will have their work cut out for them, but I have no doubt they are going to show a lot better than the debacle a couple years ago.

I was thinking this too. The Broncos have been on the wrong end of some embarrassing losses while wearing orange and I wonder if they should wear white for this game. They are the "home" team and get to choose uniform colors for the game. It may be worth wearing the white. I noticed the Panthers have worn white in both their playoff games. Curious...

Looking forward to a great Super Bowl Guys. It ends up being the best AFC team against the best NFC team.

Or the blues..... Don't forget the dark blue unis. Those are the ones we beat the heavily favored Packers with.

Game ball for me goes to Jackson, Wolfe, and the interior of the defensive line. If they don't keep the pocket collapsed, Ware, and Miller don't get to Brady.

I agree with the blue uniforms

We wore them twice this year, as they were the alternate jersey

The orange is OK, but I still have nightmares with those orange uniforms and the last Super Bowl

We've never won wearing the orange unis. I think we leave nothing to chance and superstition, and wear the blues.

I am so pumped up about this game - it is such a different vibe than when we went a few years ago

With that said, after we win the Super Bowl, we can discuss the fact that Demaryius Thomas is not a big game player and what we can get back in a deal

Sanders is amazing, and will be for a few more years .. We need to keep him

Not that it mattered much at all, but he was the only one who even bothered to show up in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks two years ago. He also had a hell of a game against NE in the AFC championship that year too.

The blue isn't an option. The league has some funny rules about which uniforms it will allow a team to wear and since the Broncos have chosen orange as their primary home uniform the choice in the Super Bowl will be orange or white. I'm not superstitious except when it comes to sports. The Broncos are dreadful in orange in the Super Bowl. But the last time they faced in the Super Bowl a team currently in the NFC South and led by a QB making what many believe to be his last start they wore white and the result was a 34-19 win. The correlation is obvious.:D

I think Von Miller takes it. Broke a Broncos team record with the 2.5 sacks. Not shocked the Broncos were able to pretty much shut Brady down, but I was surprised. Love it Brady loses to the Broncos.

I have to admit, I did not think they would be able to win that game.

Toast to the SB. Enjoy it for all it is worth.:suds:

Hopefully Manning is getting better each week. He missed a wide open Norwood that would have sealed the game.

#1 D are 9-2 in Super Bowls.

^ Yeah that was off the fingertips and just groan inducing. In the end it's all okay because winning by 2 is the same as winning by 40 in the NFL. It only counts for one win and you don't get roll over points. But I am optimistic that Manning "gets it" now. He looked solid in the second half against the Chargers and in two playoff games against two good defenses (Don't let their final statistical rankings fool you: Pittsburg's defense was playing great ball down the stretch and into the playoffs). And this offense has just enough in both the pass game and the ground game to win games. It won't blow away anyone in either category, but it can reliably plug away in one or the other or both to get it done.

That is what has had me concerned. He looked real good on those two drives, and really that is about it.

It is a factor and will remain a factor. The main problem Imo for the Broncos defense is the Panthers OL. It is very dynamic and I believe healthy.

If the Broncos dee can harass Cam and if the Broncos can withstand a panthers fast start (they have really jumped out on fire all year and especially so in the playoffs. ) the Broncos defense could actually dictate things. A frustrated Cam is an ordinary Cam.

Believe it or not, Sylvester may be the key on offense. The Panthers run the ball and they run it well. Sylvester along with the rest of the line Imo will be really key in stopping the run. Forcing them in 2nd and longs and 3rd and longs.

Yes, Manning will NEED to hit those routes if the Broncos expect to win it.
