HH thinks that a Conference USA team with a new head coach, a new offensive coordinator, a quarterback who's never played a single snap of d1 football, a rash of injuries in fall camp with paper thin depth to begin with is going to walk in to Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE and beat a team that has not lost a season opener since the mid '80s.

There are many teams in the country who I believe would have a great chance at beating Nebraska at home in a season opener this year.

I'm just hyped up for a new season. Everything is fresh and potential is great. A month ago I was worried about this game. Now I really think if Huskers come out and play to their potential it can be a rout even with the 2's in. (Carnes can't be a two in this scenario).

Sunday I may have a whole new outlook if we do not have the game in control the whole 60 minutes.

I will be ecstatic if we take control right away in the first half.

There is a pretty good chance we take something like a 7-10 point lead into the half though. These kind of teams play tough in the first half before wearing down late.

Southern Miss announced Monday that redshirt junior Chris Campbell will start against Nebraska.

Campbell, who’s been the backup to departed three-year starter Austin Davis, has never taken a career snap. The same can be said of redshirt freshman Ricky Lloyd and true freshman Anthony Alford, who could also see snaps Saturday.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound Campbell has a history of shoulder injuries, and missed three days of fall camp because of a bruised shoulder.

A native of Collierville, Tenn., Campbell last played in a football game in 2008 at Briarcrest Christian High School in Memphis, where he threw for 809 yards and completed 44 percent of his passes his senior season. He completed 12 of 18 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown in the Southern Miss spring game.

Some of those dudes have their head firmly planted up their ass. I was going through that phase where I felt sorry for Southern Miss having to play here, but all I had to do was read that board and I am now perfectly content with humiliating them.
