Game Thread: G41 24-11-5 Kings @ Oilers 1/13/25

This is it gentlemen, officially halfway through the season. Game time is 630pm on FDS, I'll be flipping between the Rams and Kings games until the Rams are over. Made a kick ass kielbasa casserole last night for dinner and have plenty of leftovers so that's on the menu tonight with a soda, been dying for one all day.

Nothing new to report, big game. Kuemper expected to start, Jill probably running the 11/7 again which I think is starting to take a toll on the team. Why on earth would you do that on a B2B like he did against Calgary on Sunday? Run the standard 12/6 in those cases man.

Oilers are 2 points ahead of LA for PD2 so this is a 4 point game as they say. Hopefully the Kings come out and ready to play. Foegele returns to Edmonton for the first time since leaving, he had a big game against them last month when I attended. Hopefully he brings it tonight and gives it to them like so many ex Kings seem to when they come back to LA.

Prediction: Oilers 4-3, this road trip doesn't go as planned. Kings goals by Clarke, Kopitar and Turcotte. The positive, all three were first round picks by LA.

There just is nothing special about this guy from what I'm seeing and again he takes a penalty. This time it wasn't stupid, he was just flat out burned.

I really hope they don't hang onto this guy way longer than they should have like they have with Buster.

Well he did watch a lot of guys playing defense for him on his way back ftom the offensive zone, from that vantage point he can really see what works 5 v 4

Kings started strong but slowly it tipped Oilers way.
Skinner has given up rebounds but never a King near the net.
Was actually worried the Kempe might be gone for a while.
Watching the Oilers feed. They have been fair to the Kings (mostly) talking a little bit how Byfield line had Oilers number last game.

Rams crushed it. I had tickets to go but obviously game was moved to Arizona. Brother in law lives in Phoenix so we still almost went. But solid win. Nightmare matchup next week, but we'll see how it goes.
