Game Thread: G40 24-10-5 Kings @ Flames 1/11/25

Game day again, 7pm start on FDS. Quick trip to Costco, will watch the Ravens Steelers while waiting for the Kings game. Christmas lights all taken down and packed away, productive day. Making some chimuchurri steak and veggies skewers for dinner, cracking a beer and watching the game.

Nothing new to report, expect Rittich to start with Kuenper playing last night. Rittich played for the Flames from 2017-21and at times the starter. He doesn't have good numbers against the Flames, something Ike 0-2-1 and a GAA of close to 4.30 and .850 SP. Maybe he gets a break with the way the Kings are playing and gets a win.

Expecting the 11/7 again, Edmundson could be a game time decision. He had a full contact practice yesterday but didn't play and with a B2B the Kings didn't hold a skate this morning. I'm expecting the same line up as last night with Englund paired with Karlsson Light as the D3 pair and Edmundson not playing until game 3 of thia road trip.

With Edmundson out that bunped Moverare to LD2 with Spence and those two were pretty impressive last night. Probably the best I've ever seen Spence play and made me wonder again, can Moverare play LD1 when Doughty returns? Moverare has been averaging about 11 minutes ATOI but played over 19 last night. Some interesting decisions coming up with Doughty approaching to return.

Kings still sporting the LAFD stickers and patches, I thought they looked cool. If these jerseys go up for auction I'll definitely put a bid in. More fire nonsense broke out this morning, this is absurd how it hasn't been able to be contained yet. Just sad all around.

Prediction: Kings win 3-2, Rittich gets his first win against his former team. Goals by TOTM (EN), Kempe and Fiala who played one of the most sloppy games I've ever seen from him as a King last night for the redemption.

Been some stupidly near my house. Three small brush fires they think started by same guy. Under 2 acres each.
Then last night some kids set off a strobe rocket firework. Basically a bottle rocket with flashes. Just not the time for that.

As far as the game goes I am going 3-2 either team.
Flames beat the Duck last game but were sloppy. (Duck loving wife got tickets) I am thinking with the days off they focused on defense.

Bunch of dummies. There were some kids lighting off fireworks near me too where they just cleared the orange groves off Gypsum Canyon and during winter break some kids were busted down there. It was a week before the fires broke out but how stupid can you be when you live in a high fire zone.

In 2001 when my folks lived in YL on their street some kids lit up the hills and once investigated and charged the kids' families were hit with a $500,000 bill for the resources needed to put the hills out.

Back then that's a lot of money (still is to me) but I believe their families had to sell their houses, use that to pay the bill and were forced to move. Morons.

As far as the game goes I am going 3-2 either team.

I could see that too, Kings are 13-2-2 in their last 17 which is the best record in the NHL during that stretch. Which means they are due for a loss...

Flames going into the prevent defense, sending one guy in on the forecheck. Generally a way to lose games no matter what sport, hopefully the Kings take advantage of that.
