Game Thread: G31 18-9-3 Kings @ Sid the Kid 12/17/24

Game day again, 4pm on FDS. Going to be able to watch this one in it's entirety. Kings are 7-1 in their last 8 which is impressive considering the lack of production from very specific players.

Interesting note, both Kopitar and Crosby are one and two in points from the 2005 draft, it's more impressive when you consider Kopitar went 11th while Crosby went 1st. These two are legends and probably not too many more match ups between them considering their age. I couldn't stand him when he broke in with the whining and bitchboy attitude but almost two decades later you have to appreciate what he has accomplished. These two are sure fire HOF bound although Kopitar didn't get nearly the love Crosby did. He's also a much better defensive player so having all those points on top of that is midnight boggling.

Not much to report, looks like the 11/7 again so Lee and Englund ready to suit up if need be but I doubt it. Kuemper wasn't on the ice this morning which indicates he will most likely start.

First meeting between Lizotte and LA as a former member, who wants to bet The Lizard pops one in against LA? Just seems like par for the course with former members. Pittsburgh has been on a decent tear recently after a rough start so this will be a competitive game.

Prediction: Pens 4-3, Kings are due for a letdown after dismantling NY on Saturday. Kings goals by Helenius, Fiala and Dunno. Moore still injured and not in the lineup keeping Turcotte as LW1.

I only saw the last half or so, But damn the way buster was standing there while another king was doing something was insanely good. Earlier In that last
Power play I was too busy watching the passing shooting And pluck retrieving By the other 4 guys To notice how good Byfielld Was Doing standing there, Luckily fox pointed it out.

Doughty gets a ton of flack for his contract (At least did) but that Karlsson contract is insane. They just said he has no goals in 16 games, which is kind of his thing considering he doesn't really play defense. That move by Dubas to go get that guy and bail San Jose out was crazy.

I gotta say. Kuemper been pretty solid, but his weakness is 1000% tweeners. That 5-hole is a liability.

Meanwhile we have Buster trying cute moves that don't work 9/10 times but the time it does everyone gives him a hand job.

Totally agree but that's how winners are made. Look at Richards, that dude was barely bigger than me but he played like someone 6'4" and 230 pounds. Mindset, no prisoners, no nothing, we are winning even if that means I pay the price.

Buster is so in his head he doesnt even know what he is capable of. That can be taught but so far this guy looks as dumb as Kevin Bieksa's face.

Difference between he and Arty Retardy. He has been up and down the lineup from L4 to L1 but he hasn't taken advantage of that opportunity.

I still think he was a reach 5OA but the guy has some smarts about him.

Doughty's contract looks average now compared to what others are being paid, I can't wait until he comes back. I think he will bring an element of competiveness that even though LA has been winning, it'll just be elevated more.

After Quick this guy is the pulse of this team. Not Brown, not Kopitar. Absolutely fierce and wants to win which I think will trickle down through the lineup.

That guy couldn't cover a table let alone an NHL player. It's disgusting how he and Doughty were in the Norris conversation together for so long, even worse this guy won it multiple times and Doughty only once.
