Maybe they can have a refined a booth who's job is to say "Hey, you might want to look at that flag again". What I don't think we want is that guy in the booth to start saying "Hey, you missed a holding call". If it gets to that point offensive holding calls will take over the game.

There is no question the officiating this year in particular has been really bad. We seem to be having this discussion after every game. On that play I could have sworn there was a rule that allowed the defense to switch out players, if not there should be. If nothing else coach the player to take a direct line to the sidelines, if that player had done that instead on angling he would have made it.

Officiating seems to have gotten worse because the rules have changed, specifically as it relates to hits. The league has narrowed down the area of a safe hit so small, that virtually every tackle on a QB or WR is in question. Couple that with the addition of multiple camera angles on every play that are available almost instanteous to viewers, it puts almost every call in question. Before all of the camera angles, many calls that get overturned now, didn't then as they were inconclusive. Hell, now there are cameras in endzone pylons!

I can't recall a time when I've seen so many blown calls, and ones that came at such critical times in a game. I'm not sure if this has to do with the fact that refs aren't full-time employees, but something has to change. I mean, how many times does the NFL have to apologize for a blown call? I'll give the NFL this much: at least they're up front with their mistakes.

I think that the Seahawks-Lions game was rock bottom & should spur numerous changes with officiating. In that case it was not just a blown call - it appeared to be the refs not even knowing the rules. Perhaps it is a matter of too many overcomplicated rules & the game being to fast for some. Should be some interesting discussions at the NFL meetings.

Oh yeah, I remember that game. Seattle should've lost that game but Megatron should've also secured the ball as he was crossing the goal line. Remember the Fail Mary Seattle got involved with as well a couple of years or so? And the 'Hawks luck continued last week with Blair Walsh. That didn't involve a penalty, but man do the Seahawks have a lucky rabbit's foot somewhere. Or maybe God's a Seahawks fan.
