If "the best team" were clear cut, I would definately vote for them.

If I had two similar teams where it was debatable, I'd want them to play each other. If one of those teams or conferences coveted a fucking bowl game more than they did true competition, I would not vote for them.

At the very minimum, I would certainly wait for both teams to play their respective bowls 'before' I cast my ballot.
