Today we buried my mom. As is the norm, the service was full of "testimonials" about what made my mom such a great mom. Afterwards, my 8 year old grand daughter Ella came to me and asked, "Grandpa, I don't understand. If she was such a great mom, why did you have to go to Boys Town?" I didn't have an answer for her. She pretty much summed up my feelings for the entire weekend.
