How does a conference have a losing record against itself?

Probably because Miami and VT left.
but if a team leaves (i.e Miami), then their record goes to the ACC.
Hence, Nebraska's losing record against the ACC.
So, Miami should have no effect on the Big East vs the Big East.
Miami should be the reason the Big East is piss poor against the ACC.
Or Miami's win/loss record should be a part of the conference record during the time they were there? When did they jump to the ACC?
Most of Miami's record came as an independent too...so should the win-losses before they joined a conference just be ignored?
Don't look now but there are now 2 WVU fans on the board...
