Good point. The Angels are prime to make some moves, but they have a LOT of money tied up in some bad contracts. I think they need to move a few pieces if they're going to get Cano. Just thinking about the amount of money they'd have between Hamilton, Pujols, and Cano is nauseating.

I am somewhat surprised the Angels have not looked to dump a contract or two. I would think they would have to get creative to find a taker for Josh Hamilton or Pujols but it can be done. At some point the Angels will have to stop over paying for the length of time they are giving.

As much as the Angels would like Cano can't see them signing him without moving a few contracts.

It did get one of those WS rings and postseasons from 2002 through 2009..but hey..it depends on what your trying to accomplish I guess....but for the most part you right, the big spending hasn't worked out for them obviously the last year or two..similar to the Yankees or Toronto.

I agree. Even the big pocketed teams can't afford "the biggest deal in MLB history" in addition to the two albatrosses they already have.

I like Morales too but the Yankees have Teixeira at 1B and Soriano at DH. Granted, Teixeira is a huge "if" this year with that wrist, but they can't spend the kind of money it would take to get Morales on insurance.
