so right now they are fairly even but after this season the which will put both at 11 years the TD difference will be much closer both receiving and rushing and the yardage difference in receiving will be closer with Gore creating more distance in the rushing yards probably about the difference between Watters receiving yards to Gores.

Not unless he finds the fountain of youth.

If he retired today he'd be 20th in career rushing yards, 42nd in rushing TDs, never won a ring, never had a first team All Pro, and as you say...never considered a top 3 player at his position. Textbook Hall of Very Good, but not HOF.

His numbers are better than Lynch's except for TD's which are close and their is only a one year difference in when they both started and Gore has nearly 3,000 more rushing yards and nearly 1,000 more receiving yards. He doesn't need the fountain of youth he's in the AFC South which isn't even close to the same division from a defensive stand point that the NFC West is. He'll be in the hall of fame even with out a super bowl ring which isn't his fault by the way Harbaugh suffered from the same stupidity that your coach sleazy pete did in this years Super Bowl just give the damn ball to Gore and they win the Super Bowl.

Also disagree that Gore was never a top player at his position or top 3-5 but I'm biased. In 2006 he was top 3 in rushing yards but had very few TD's because that 49ers team was terrible.

Ummm...Lynch has what, exactly, do to with the conversation? (BTW, Gore has two years on Lynch, and I would be shocked to see Lynch get in as well.)

To get into the HOF discussion Gore needs 1500 yards (doable), 25 TDs (not going to happen), and multiple All Pros and/or SB rings (exceedingly unlikely).

When people think of RBs from Gore's generation they are going to think of Peterson, Lynch, Tomlinson. Gore will be an "Oh yeah, and him." reference. Gore was/is a good back, but when you can't even make a single All Pro team you aren't going into Canton.

So Gore can't score 25 TD's threw the rest of his career I think that's do able over the course of three more years or so. He was All Pro and a Pro Bowler in 2006 and has been a Pro Bowl player 5 times so he has made those teams. Also with his career not over his numbers will only improve. I mentioned Lynch because Gore has been a better RB over each players career or at least more consistent. If you look back there were a bunch of guys that had one or two good seasons and then fell off Gore and guys like Lynch have not so that consistency has to count for something.
