For as much as I'm reading that the Democrats trotted out a weak candidate in Joe Biden, he's likely going to be over 70 million votes when it's all said and done which would be a record.
It is already a record.
Truthfully this is the one thing I give Trump credit for. He is so bad and polarizing that he generated record turn out.

^ Also to add Trump got the most votes ever by a Republican in this election.

Largest voter turnout ever but still the percentage based off eligible voters, currently is less than 2016.

2020 Eligible voters: 239,247,182 Total votes (so far): 137,972,219 Pct: 57.7%
2016 Eligible voters: 230,931,921 Total votes: 136,669,276 Pct: 59.2%

In fairness, by the time the votes in NY, CA, and MA are added in, Trump could have the second highest popular vote turnout ever. Very good chance he moves past Obama's '08 total.

MSNBC talking about something I hadn't considered. Biden has worked with a lot of the establishment Senators for decades and he should be relatively capable of reaching them. He could come up with something taht isn't as emotional an issue like healthcare to start some cooperation. He only has to flip 3 or 4 "moderates" to help him with something like an infrastructure bill, COVID relief or starting to build out wind farms. Slowly inch cooperation forward.

Then we have a big mid term n 2022 to flip a few seats by calling out the ones who don't get together to help start the recovery and get the real shit done then.

Bush league shit.

Okay, so here's the thing. You're the President and it's an elected position...SO you should really get some information on how this how election process works. It's pretty straightforward.

We could find you a nice community college extension course without too much reading. What do you say?

Also: I think it was a horrendous mistake for the progressives to start the court packing/expanding talk. That probably scared enough pearl clutching bible thumpers into coming out and vote for Trump narrowing the margins. Shouldn't have said the quiet part out loud.

That and using "Defund the Police" over "Reform Policing" didn't help their cause.

So MSNBC hasn’t paid any attention at all to the Republicans for the last 30 years, huh?

Did they also not pay a single ounce of attention to the fact the Democratic Congress did absolutely nothing to work with Trump?

Biden was supposedly Obama’s conduit to congress and he barely got a single thing done with the other party. The closest they ever got was the grand bargain with Boehner and that collapsed.

Republicans May lose this election but there are a lot of positives out there for them right now - they took big chunks of the Latino vote, they probably got more blacks on their side than they ever thought they would, and if the biggest turnoff to voters was their current leader that problem just solved itself.

I’m all for optimism but nothing in recent history suggests there is a single reason for Republicans to start doing anything differently.

Big Republican county was expected to break heavy Trump in mail in voting and protect against the surge in Atlanta area.

Does not look like that is happening.

George Bush had James Baker and Ted Olson as lawyers when he challenged the 2000 election.

Eric and Rudy are WAY SMARTER than those two. Watch out!

A mob of self proclaimed "poll watchers" have shown up at the place where they are counting vote in Michigan and rushed the building.

Wonder where these donkeys got that idea?

Last numbers have Biden up over 61k with 30% still outstanding in Detroit. Out of the recount range.

And Senate race is now +1% blue.

Edit: not 30% of Detroit outstanding. But like 10%. 99 of Michigan is in and it's +61k to Biden and + 1k to Peters. Only outstanding ballots are in Detroit and Flint.

Which is why the donkeys are bum rushing the building.
