Stance: Goofy
The Gaetz thing is super weird, but I'm again uncomfortable speculating on homosexuality, especially when it's used as an insult.
But he's definitely hiding something, and it's absolutely gross to use the kid as a political prop.
(If he's telling something close to the truth, though, about "adopting" him, my bet is on it being a kid he had out of wedlock when he was very young, who came to live with him when he was 12. That would explain both why he felt emboldened to tell what would otherwise be an obvious lie--because there's a grain of truth to fall back on when he's called out--how he was able to "adopt" the kid despite the DUIs and such, and why he'd want to keep it a secret, since a kid out of wedlock likely wouldn't sit well with the Christian conservative portion of his base.)
Nor would (should) being gay and pedophilia.
His status as a person in a party that not just denies rights based on something a person cannot control but revels in it makes indications that he is denying rights to people like himself fair game. I don't feel like the speculation is being used as an insult in this case, but an indicator of horrendous hypocrisy. That's what he's being called out for.
That and his verifiable lies and flaunting this kid as a political prop. I don't care if he's gay. I care that if he is he has tried like hell to damage all the other gay people. I don't care if Lndsey Graham is gay. At this point I'd be shocked if he wasn't. But people have been severely damaged by his rhetoric which is inexcusable. If he's part of the community he is hurting for personal gain...
Inexcusable and I am OK with the fire of a thousand suns coming down on him.
