lol - That didn't take long - CNN brings on a "lawyer" to discuss the Trump campaign suing CNN for their recent poll and the lawyer calls CNN fake news and brings up their bad ratings.

This whole steps/ramp nonsense would have been completely avoided by the dumbass if he didn't insist in giving an in person commencement because Obama was asked to give commencement for all high schoolers. Remember, West point was home. He made them go back so he could play commander in chief. If he had just given a virtual address from a chair in the oval office we wouldn't be talking about how far in decline he is. And it kinda negates the "senile Joe" talking point. Not with his cult, but with the middle ground.

What a fucking moron.

I'm honestly not too keen on all the litigation of Trump's health. For one, it's honestly a distraction from his willful corruption and ineptitude otherwise. But I think it also sets a bad precedent, where we judge actually decent people unfit because of physical decline. It, like poking at his weight, just feel like completely unnecessary low blows which open up similar attacks on decent people with decent politics we'll rightly deride as unfair.

wasnt the precedent already set in 2016? I know its not a pretty topic but his cognitive ability is prescient here imo :noidea:

I just don't think it's our place to comment on it. And, again, we don't even need to get into his cognitive ability or health to declare him unfit. He's openly corrupt and bigoted and wants to be a dictator, and is taking every step in that direction he can.

But this sort of detached discussion of his health, armchair diagnosis, demands of medical records, whatever, makes me uncomfortable in general. I hated it when people demanded more complete medical records from Bernie Sanders after his heart attack, and I'm consistent on this. It isn't our business. We determine his fitness entirely by the quality of the job he's doing, and Trump's job quality is absolute crap.

Generally, I am in agreement with you DS, but this is the same guy who has poked fun at people for their disabilities (both physical and mental), poked fun at people's appearances, and is a racist asshat. He's exhausted any good will people should feel towards him as he is a truly horrible person.

Right, and he was wrong to do it and should get lambasted for it. But turning those weapons against him isn't the answer. We shouldn't be using them at all. If they're wrong for him to use, they're wrong for us to use.

I feel the same way about fat jokes levied at Trump and gay jokes levied at Pence and Graham. The people they hurt with their words and policies cannot be the punchlines of the jokes we use to hurt them.

I think mental health mores than physical health is fair game - it's really one weapon Congress could use to oust a sitting president short of impeachment conviction which as we've seen the last couple of times is a complete waste of time.

I think initially people tried to take the high road with the hope (naive as it is) that elected officials would you know hold the president to a high standard and call him on his bs. You can see the changes that have occurred in the last year or so with people in the media calling him a liar and a racist (essentially not holding back) because they saw that taking the high road amounted to the square root of diddly squat. I mean, look at the impeachment process, how can you have a trial with no witnesses and with all Republicans (except for Romney) saying they would vote to acquit him before the trial even started? People realize the game is rigged and they are frustrated and are just venting their frustration through these personal attacks.
