Good post. There is a difference between erasing history (modifying schoolbooks to ignore/delete certain events for example) and glorifying it (removing statues, changing building names).

For hundreds of years now we've been constantly dragging a certain populace past a bare minimum of human decency. Enough is enough. Especially in moments where there isn't any imposition on these being asked to change. Bring your state's flag if you like. Stop whining and act like decent human beings, snowflakes.

Unfortunately Mississippi still fucks that up too. At least Georgia decided to join the rest of the civilized world (on this one topic at least) by taking the Confederate flag off their state flag in 2001 (which, BTW they only added in 1956 )
