Very surprised and happy to see Scherff make it. He is a very good player, that's no surprise and I love the guy. Of course being a very good guard was never my issue with the pick. Let's wait the full 3 years we all agree is necessary and then some before declaring a winner of this debate OK?

Honestly... because if we put Lavaou next to Moses, Cousins would get murdered. sure we would have the most dominant left side of the line in the league short of maybe Dallas, but Lauvao and Moses on the right. Seriously?? Thats like two subway turnstiles with tissue paper between them.

Oh cmon now Moses has held his own this year. He is a top 16 RT. He is got a good rating from pff

I don't know how anyone can not be happy with Morgan Moses. He plays a much harder position and his development allowed us to get out of the Tyler Polumbus business. He is a big reason for our improved pass blocking.

Moses has filled in nicely for Polumbus however, remove Lavau and Moses is our weakest lineman, period! I would start Nyseke over Moses right now. Don't believe me, take a pole...

Wrong. The two weakest positions on the oline is LG and C. Its the main reason why we can not run in between the tackles.

To me he is average. He cant run block, and I cant count how many time over the past two years I have seen speed rushers go right around him. He is our version of Doug Free. And I think without Zack Martin next to him, Free was a liability. Same vibe I get from Moses.

Dean, do actually read other post or scan and post to prove your point? I said LG was our weakest, remove LG and Moses becomes our weakest link, period! Long is both a better center and LG than Moses is at RT. Right now Moses could be replaced with Nyseke and our offense would not miss a beat.

Moses is a better pass blocker than run blocker I agree but he doesn't get help from Scherff f that is what you are saying.

Long is not a better o lineman than Moses. That is insane. Long got beat out by Lavou in training camp and Lavou was coming off an injury. Long now has moved to center b/c of injuries and is average. Moses is more important to this team b/c he blocks edge rushers.

I already proved that we took the wrong OG in the draft by bypassing Jackson. Lets see who will get the contract extension.

You are right, he doesnt get help from Scherff. But having Scherff there to go man up against Nose tackles and some times take on two blockers does make things easier for Moses in passing situations. Put a lesser player next to Moses and watch as Kirk gets waded up like a paper napkin at an all you can eat rib joint.

I will agree with you on that point, Moses appears to be more efficient in Pass Pro than run blocking. Scherff is a Pro Bowler because he does both efficiently and Moses' ineffectiveness has nothing to do with Scherff.

You are speculating on that one. Has Scherff helped this running game since he came here? the answer is no.

Dean...you have proven nothing. Please look up the word proved so you can properly use the term.
Moses has been solid...a good third round pick. You are overemphasized the importance of the RT though. Just because you block an edge rusher doesn't make you more important. LT is considered the most important position because you are blocking the blindside of the QB and defenses typically put their best rusher there. As a matter of fact, if you base importance off of money, RT is the least important position along the entire OL.

Its been proven the Gabe Jackson is a better player than S. Long. Its still an OT. OT's usually get paid more and drafted higher than OG's. How many OT's b/c they can pass block get over drafted? A lot. Its a passing league. Their is always an OT taken in the with the top picks in the draft.

How soon some forget just how bad it was with Polumbus here. I'm not claiming that Moses is Jon Jansen in his prime but he's been pretty damned good. To claim that RT, a position where you can be totally exposes as we saw with Polumbus or an over the hill Jansen, is the least important OL position is something I will never buy into. Guards and centers have help, tackles do not very often.

Is Gabe Jackson a better player today for Oakland? Perhaps. That is today and another team and another system. It is not proven.

Every position on the line has help...every single one. TES and RBS frequently help tackles by chipping. Depending on the call and what is seen for the OL, tackles get help.

The fact is...the position paid the least along the OL is..........RT
