Ford was with the Giants so long, he actually got into a game. Truly one of the most successful FZ finds ever.

Weird to think of him on another team. Also strange that another team would even sign him. He seemed pretty done last year
To be fair, the clubhouse seems to have been pretty toxic (no sarcasm). Granted, he was one of (the?) leaders of said clubhouse, but that kind of disorder can make it tough for even a veteran to play well.

Yeah .. 2023 was a real bad year for him ... but it's only 2 years from the 2021 season ... probably his best in baseball .. sorry to see him leave like this though. He's been a real forever Giant ... all 13 seasons with us.
For me it feels similar to when Mays went to the Mets. I understood it but to me he was a Giant ... no matter where the taam was located. I wish him well.

This feels similar to when Robby Thompson signed with the Indians in 1997. He was done and the Giants moved on from him after 11 seasons but Thompson didn't think he was done. So he went to camp with the Indians, where he realized he really was done. It is hard to see Crawford play with another team so I am selfishly hoping the same happens for him but, how can I be-grudge a player another season if he really does have something left in the tank?

Yeah .. i believe it is very hard (next to impossible) for most professional athletes to 'call it a day' when their time comes. Most seem to hang on just a little too long .... always looking for that 'rebound' season .... that never seems to happen ...

FYI, it is NOT a minor league deal with an NRI. He signed an honest to goodness MLB contract.

That is the really surprising part about this. Guys who are younger and who had better seasons have had to settle for minor league deals with invitations to spring training. Good for Crawford.

I love it for Craw. I am happy for him. I just didn’t want to see him in another uni. That’s why I am wishing him ill. Totally petty, totally selfish.

Wheeler extended 3/126...Beltran is the gift that just keeps on giving.

I mean, I know at the time is was the right move but damn it sucks that we traded away an ace.

An ace who missed all of ‘15 and ‘16 and was horrible in ‘17. He also hit free agency and changed teams in the meantime.

Yes, in hindsight, it was an awful trade. But I still stand behind it for the info we had at the time and even with hindsight, I think it isnt as devastating as people try to make it out to be.
