The talk is after the season, not right now. Jets are going to be cut lose some contracts. They've got a decent amount of money tied up for being a top 5 draft pick.

He actually does pretty well tv wise. At least better than some of the players they have on these days like Ray Lewis. I would bet though he will find another home as he is still playing lights out. If you look beyond his off the field drama and his issues especially with being bi-polar the man is one of the best WR's I have seen play the game.

Who knows how truthful he was, but last year before the season started BMarsh said the Jets were the last team he will play with. If they were to cut/trade him he would retire. Minds change fast though.

Yeah we hear NFL players all the time say things that just don't pan out. I've heard quite a few players talk about taking that "hometown discount". Well that term can mean a lot of things to a lot of players. Does that mean you are willing to knock off say 10% to stay in town or just a few thousand dollars? Although with Marshall he does seem like a guy that lives by his convictions. Still I would say the talent is still there for him to play at a high level for at least 2 more years.

I mean Favre had talked about retirement after his first SB win... He played like 100 years longer.

DRC talked retirement after Denver gave Talib the big contract and he wanted to return... His quote was something like when he was drafted he wanted to play 5 years in the NFL... and he had played his 6th....

Yeah I remember that becoming a huge story during Super Bowl week when DRC talked about he didn't know if this would be his last game. I'm always amazed at the players who can walk away early and never look back. It would be tough for me with something I have devoted a huge chunk of my life to plus the promise of millions upon millions to just get up and walk away. I keep wondering if a guy like Kuechley who just suffered what looked like a really bad concussion again if he decides to hang them up early.

Knowing a few players I can tell you. Some players truely love the game and put all of their heart into it...

Others are just really good at it.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. We are very young at the RB position so getting a veteran that knows the system would be a decent idea. And not like he was the worst RB in football last year.

Not really related - but I chuckled a few days ago when I saw a 2107 mock draft with the Broncos taking the record setting RB from San Diego St. Don't know anything about the kid or his name, but it made me laugh at the thought.

Please no. Great college player. Tiny RB... I don't see him being a great NFL back.
