@bears_insider: Per @BradBiggs, the Bears signed long snapper Chad Rempel, who played for Marc Trestman in the CFL.
He was looking for a punter also.
I mean, just look at the magnificent bastard!
Leo was looking for 6 veteran punters to be signed by the beginning of training camp! Competition at the punter position is the key to this off-season.
Also I don't understand the fuss over the LS position. Everyone knows Patrick "The Immortal" Mannelly will be back.
If a team has proven, reliable kickers, they dont bring in guys to compete- their jobs are secure. However, they may sign someone for the portion of preseason where inflated rosters are allowed to see what they can do. That gives an idea who may be suitable to bring back if an injury occurs...but its not a competition.
This isn't what Leo wanted.
Leo wants another couple veteran punters, and "veteran" long snappers.
LOL, as if being a "veteran" is so important when it comes to throwing a ball between your legs. Too funny.
