That is the kind of hit that they need to eliminate, there's no place in the game for that crap. Same goes for blatant head shots.

Yea, I give Shanny a lot of credit for being transparent and attempting to set a standard for what will not be tolerated. I personally feel that he was doing a very good job in the preseason and the first 2-3 weeks of the season, but as of late things have become hazy again. Suspensions based on injuries is like reffing by result, just because a guy grabs his doesn't mean he was hit high(see P.K.Subban every time he's on the ice).

I'd really love to see a system implemented where if A happens then the punishment is B for both regular penalties and infractions that require league disciplinary action. There is way too much room for intrepritation of intent. If you trip, hook or impede a player you goto the box. If you target the head intentionally(there will alwasy be some degree of hits to the head due to the speed of the game and players reactions) or board a player(without making any attempt to slow up and not destroy the opposing player) you should get a 5 and a minimum 1 game Shanaban, repeat offenders should be punished more severely. That's my opinion at least.
