It's looking more and more (to me at least) that Torts was a tragically bad hire considering the Canucks personnel.

It was pure desperation - I think the Canucks tried to one up the Rangers and be like "Watch this!" and it went in flames - they should have went after John Stevens, especially considering the group that was there was getting old - maybe if you got a younger coach they would go the younger route - but that was a complete disaster hiring Torts, and the thing is, the Canucks were doing fine(even when they got blown out in Anaheim), but Torts is the type of guy where he has one spat and it puts all the attention in the wrong places and the locker room thing was the breaking point
