The Islanders open up the preseason tonight with two games. One meaningless in Philly. The other in Saskatoon.

the flyers have been playing most of their big boys throughout the preseason...

this isn't a knock on flyers fans here but reading their preview in the hockey news, then a couple of my friends who are flyers fans said themselves the flyers prospect pool is a bit on the light side so they really don't have much to look at as far as guys who've never been in the nhl before

Dipietro was his own worst ememy last night. It was nice to see him play since it's been a couple of years but the rust was there. The Kotalik goal was a gift from Ricky. There was nothing De Haan could do to get out of the way. I'm just glad the puck didn't hit him in the head.

Mark Eaton did just that. While trying to clear the zone during a Flames powerplay he hit Rhett Rakhshani in the head with the puck. To Rakhshani's credit he got the puck out of the zone & went straight to the bench. Fortunately Rhett was fine.

Kipper was very good. There wasn't anything he could do on the PP goal by De Haan. I know the Flames are very deep on the blueline but Mark Giordano is an absolute stud. He might be their best defensemen.
