He started out asking for something like that, he came down to a one year deal for 12 and the Jets countered with a one year deal for 8 I think.

Yup, here in NY they were reporting he was asking for an Osweiler(sp?)/Bradford type deal. I guess with the options dwindling he took the best he could short term...

I would say the Jets played their hand best. Didn't have to give multiple years, didn't pay $15+, got everyone else signed they needed to and then got him at a deal that is pretty much exactly what he should be getting paid.

Agreed and he's not going to win you a game but may lose you one. Best option they have right now though but that's not saying much...

Agreed. The Jets will win with the running game and defense but 10 games is probably the best they can do. High quality QB's will win an extra 2 or 3 games with their arm and control of the game.
