A few thoughts,

  • I like that Fisher is no longer on the Competition Committee, always felt it was a distraction.
  • Gregg Williams is one of the premier Coordinators in the League.
  • Rob Boras had a decent start to his career, went 3-1 since his promotion.
  • Mike Groh could be the missing link and help Goff by implementing the spread for game situations.
  • John Fassel has done much better the last few years with Special Teams, love the gadget plays that seem to work more often than not.
  • With Mike Groh replacing Ray Sherman as WR coach, it could be addition by subtraction.
  • Always liked Paul Boudeau
  • Frank Bush has his work cut out for him this year losing James from the LB corp.
Your comment sounds good, now the Rams have to go out and perform.

The three biggest challenges for the coaching staff will be:
  1. QB Efficiency.
  2. Pass Pro.
  3. WR development.
If they can make some strides with those three key areas, then the Rams will have their best season in years, however that is a huge IF!

Not an excuse, but reality. If he doesn't have a winning team soon, he'll be long gone before they move into the new stadium.

He hasn't produced a winning team in his four seasons, he shouldn't have even made the trip to LA.

They have been more competitive with Fish as the HC (10-38 in the 3 previous seasons before his arrival).....it isn't his fault they play in the brutal NFC West.
That shouldn't be an excuse though. Four years is plenty enough time to have become a division winner and playoff contender.

I hope you're right!!! I'm hoping those guys can plug right in and play great. Not sure I'd want to depend on an UDFA in his rookie season though..

I would trust this Brian Randolph. Word is he is a better version of McCleod and he hits just as bad ass as Barron, McDonald, et al. I think this kid is going turn some heads and may win the job outright.

Four years is not long enough to produce a division winner, when you have Seattle and Zona in the same division.

It sure is long enough to produce a winning team though. As I've said on here over and over, it is NOT the divisional teams we usually have problems with, we cannot seem to beat teams OUTSIDE of our division. So the whole "tough division" means little. If our team takes care of business against teams like the Skins and Bears, we'd be in a MUCH better position in our division.
Inconsistency has been the mark of these Jeff Fisher teams. We don't get the same effort/preparedness week in/week out like we should...

I was under the impression they already extended his contract months ago; I guess that never was finalized? I would assume this is just to avoid the "lame duck" coach situation, and he still would be easily fireable if the team doesn't progress.

So why was Arizona a division winner in three years after they hired Arians?

In 2012 when Wisenhunt was still coach, the Cardinals were 5-11. The next year when Arians took over, they were 10-6, followed by improving to 11-5 and then winning the division title last season at 13-3, in his third year. So yes, four years is more than enough time to produce a division winner and Jeff Fisher has yet to do that, thus he should've already been handed his walking papers.

Fair enough, I can respect your opinion. My thoughts about Zona being a good team the last few years, is that they signed Palmer. The Rams haven't had a good QB for years, hopefully Goff will turn out okay for the Rams.

No way, Palmer is nothing special, the Cards have been great at drafting for years. Palmer has one playoff win in his his career.

I thought we were talking about winning division titles, not playoff games?

Palmer is light years better than Bradford/Foles however. The Cards' roster was not as depleted as the Rams roster when Snisher took over either.

Agree, worst 5 year record in league history thanks to the management. Let be said although I am not a Fisher lover, at least the 7-8-1, 7-9 records are in a more positive mode. That being said, can he put the number the other way around??? I'm not sure on that.:noidea:
