That was the dumbest way I’ve ever seen us lose one in OT. That took two guys to fuck up really bad. Ridiculous.

OV blasting his goalie. What a douche.

He can still play for my team anytime though :)

I can understand, it was a stupid play. How is he not back in the net there? how does Schultz not reach the puck first? And how in the fuck do they both happen at once?

yeah, agreed. It’s been an even series on the whole - it’s honestly going to just come down to some luck methinks. Sad for Schultz and Samsonov who both had great games overall.

congrats, Bruins fans.

NBC Sports Washington analyst and former Capitals goaltender, Brent Johnson, gave his insight into what he thought went wrong.

“The miscue is, Samsonov, once he touches the puck back here, he’s gotta go in the same way he came out with the puck because he’s got to provide that interference for Smith,” Johnson said. “So as soon as he stops the puck, he’s got to retrace his steps and provide that interference that he should have and that would have given Schultz — even if there was that miscommunication – that time to go back and grab the puck. [Samsonov] follows it around and keeps going around the net. By the time he looks back and notices that Smith has the puck, it’s behind him in the net.

“Almost every single time, as soon as you stop that puck behind the net, you cannot continue out the opposite side because your back is turned,” he continued. “If you go out the same way you came in, then you know what’s going on. Everything’s going on in front of you and that’s the miscommunication.”

Killer mistake, but John Carlson put it in perspective...

"If [Samsonov] didn’t stand on his head, we probably wouldn’t have gotten to [overtime]. He was huge tonight for us. I wouldn’t say anything other than keep your head up, there’s a lot more hockey to be played.”

If this series goes to a game 7, the top 10 list of most game 7s played would be HALF made up of players in this series. Crazy.

Rank Name Birth Pos. # of Game 7s

1 Zdeno Chara 1977 D 15

2 Scott Stevens 1964 D 13

3 Patrick Roy 1965 G 13

4 Patrice Bergeron 1985 F 13

5 Alexander Ovechkin 1985 F 13

6 Nicklas Bäckström 1987 F 13

7 Glenn Anderson 1960 F 12

8 Ken Daneyko 1964 D 12

9 Stephane Yelle 1974 F 12

Refs don't want to decide a game in OT and then fail to call a penalty with a player in alone on the goalie.
This one of those things that drives me nuts. They say we don’t want refs deciding games. I just want to yell, “hey dumbass, when you fail to call an obviously blatant penalty, you are in fact helping to decide the game, you f’ing moron!”

Agreed. It was a pretty clean overtime, but there was one really obvious call (can't remember who it was) that should have given the Bruins a PP. It was clear and seen by the refs.

I can understand the refs not calling one if they aren't sure, but the whole tuck the whistle away thing is bullshit.

Exactly. You don’t want every little stick tap or tug called, but for goodness sakes, if you damn near snap a guy’s spine with a cross check or a guy gets bull-dogged to the ice on a potential breakaway, etc make the damn call already.

B's come oh so close with a buzzer beater. No score after one, Boston will start period 2 on the PP.

Wilson should be suspended for how hard he just hit that crossbar.

That comment was hilarious...

”Until you put one in the net, that [encouragement] isn’t going to mean anything.”
”Yeah, kind of like a $58 per diem on the road.”

hahahaha. Management isn’t going to like that one.
