After these afternoon games I think colts might be the weakest of these first 4. I don't think any are going to be easy.

That Colts defense is nothing special. Leading 35-34 with ~40 to go, the Colts allowed the Lions to drive into FG range and kick a 43 yarder. The game ended in a safety as the Colts ST tried to pass around. Now granted the past few years the Colts always seem to play their best ball against the Broncos, so there's that. Maybe the mental edge is gone now that Manning is gone.

Colts appeared to be the only team where Peyton Magic - worked backward - the Colts were more motivated and Manning appeared to be not thinking straight. IMO - the Colts will return to normal without Manning in there.

I hope that is right. I will say though that our defense hasn't always done that great against the Colts. So I think it goes beyond Manning and for some reason Luck seems to have one of his better games of the year against us. Still I don't think the Colts defense has been this weak when we have played them so I think our offense will have much better luck moving the football and keeping their offense on the sideline.

The Broncos will have two things to worry about with the Colts offense - the pass to Dwayne Allen the TE and Luck scrambling or not going down until he finds a receiver downfield.

I'm watching the Lions/Colts game right now. Honestly not impressed with the Colts offense at all. They have maybe the simplest running system in the entire NFL. Pretty much it is they are in shotgun and they run at the guard to the opposite side of which the RB is standing before the snap. If that is the case this year and what I continue to see in this gameplan then I like our chances to really shut them down.

Luck is so damn tough and stubborn. Breaking free and completing a 3rd down when he should be on the ground breaks a defenses will sometimes. Nothing phases him . He just keeps coming after you. You have to rip his kidneys apart to get him out of the game.. I love that and I think that has something to do with his success against Denver.

Our defense prides itself on breaking the will of a QB by the end of the game and you are right Luck is one of the few that just doesn't seem to have that problem. It is why they are never out of the game. I remember the one time we actually beat him since he came into the league and we had to build up a huge lead just to hold on at the end of the game.

Honestly I think our best game plan will be to run the heck out of the football and hope that winning the TOP battle keeps Luck out of rhythm. He seems to struggle early on in games with accuracy so I think if you can keep him on the sideline as much as possible you can keep him from ever getting into that groove.

I agree - grind out the run and the short possession passing game.
