for me last night against the Dallas Mavericks and I shut it off mid way through the 2nd quarter. They flat out stink. Can't score, don't play defense and the coaching once again is horrible. So to all the guys that said the Lakers are going to surprise people this season, the only surprise you're going to see is Mitch Kupchak sitting up there on the NBA draft lottery panel next spring. :L GO 'CUSE!

I admit I was disgusted last night as well but it's a bit early to call the team a lotto team after 5 games don't you think. I mean the Lakers did finish the season last year something like 26-12. Kobe could end up turning the ship around. I'm not saying the Lakers are going to be amazing but the season is still young.

The problem here is guy's that as long as Nash & Blake keep starting in the backcourt, we are going to get crushed by faster guards. Our perimeter defense is a joke, these 2 bums cant guard nobody to start the game.

And to top it of when these to clowns get beat of the dribble their is no true rim protector. Now i'm not saying the team wont improve the longer they play, but problems on the defensive end will remain as long as Nash & blake remain on the team & 2nd this team every time down the court is just looking to jack up 3's. (You live & die by the 3's)

We have no post game & Gasoft thinks his a shooting guard hanging around the perimeter when his big bird ass needs to keep his ass under the post. I thought he was happy going back to the center position  what an idiot.

I hope i'm wrong, but Houston will crush us, expect the 1st 5 minutes of the game for the Rockets to kill Nash & Blake, it could be another blow out from the start :L

I honestly don't know what you guys are expecting. Damn near everyone on the roster is a minus defender. The only way LA is going to win games is hot 3 pt shooting with final scores like 110-103. And no one on the team is what I'd call a lights out shooter either (Nash aside but he's hurt all the time) so every game will be a roller coaster of inconsistency. Kobe coming back will alleviate that some but they'll still stink defensively. Just watch the game and enjoy it in the moment. Quit worrying about the big picture.

It just frustrates me that we have 2 bigs and we dont play inside out on offense but jack up a bunch of threes.

It's part of the learning process in D'Antoni's offense. His offense will shoot a lot of 3's, but it's about learning when to shoot them. For all intents and purposes, this is a brand new team. There are many new faces that have to get used to playing together and old faces who are having to adjust their play in ways they never have before.

Give them time. So far, this team has performed pretty much as expected. I don't mean how the "experts" who said we'd only win 35 games expected, I mean how we Lakers fans on this board said we expected them to perform.

I get what youre saying. I didnt expect to be world beaters, but I didnt expect to be this bad and inconsistent. However like you said it is a new team adjusting to playing together and im behind this team regardless. I still dont think Dantoni is the appropriate fit for this job.
