I totally agree we should have ran the ball. I think that the false start was not just on Smith, but part Romo's fault and part the play call - all our false starts in the re zone seem to be on passes. BUT,,,the way we ran our red zone offense today and really the Offense overall, how in the world can we criticize the play calling, the OL, Romo or anyone else associated with the Offense on this team today?

It was definitely a pass coming. Romo actually backed up to when Smith did.

Do you not recall Murray getting us down to the two yard line?

If you watch the play it was the typical Dallas play where we take the clock down to almost no time, change the play at the last second (or at least pretend to change it) and then snap it. This has continued to cause us unnecessary confusion for years and particular in the red zone. It was similar to the Williams int against the Giants in that last minute changes and confusion resulted in a mental mistake. Adding that pass blockng always seems to be when we have the false starts and that was my point. Confusion creates mental errors. None of that means anyone was more at fault than Smith, but the point is that there are ways to minimize these types of things from happening and there are ways to make them more likely and we just continue to be on the wrong side of that.

Restating the main point again...I can't see questioning Romo, the game plan, the play calling or the OL after yesterdays performance. They were all incredible and the OL is just light years ahead of where we were last year IMO.

I will be waiting for the WFRYE bomb to drop for bringing it up, but that specific First and Goal from the 2 is why we need a Damn Fullback on the roster. Murray is a big strong back, bring in an FB(or DT), ram the ball up the middle, and if your not in after a couple of plays, QB keeper walks in. I say walks in, because P Manning runs about a 5.2 40 now and he could have ran it in backwards on the other end of the field

I'm convinced they hate to run the ball. I know situations dictate plays called, and you can't run 25 times for the Hell of it, but they seem to have no confidence when it comes to running the ball.

heard today that Fredrick didnt snap the ball. I thought it looked funny because as soon as Smith jumped , Romo also backed up as if he were getting ready to take the snap.

Its amazing how Manning make probably twice the adjustments as all other qb's includiing Romo and still leaves himself 5-7 secs to get the play off. The man is Amazing.

But that's the thing that amplifies the difference between us and them. Manning starts his adjustments at 20 seconds. They say half of what he says means nothing. We seem to start our adjustments at 5 to 7 seconds. Every time we make an adjustment in the red zone I cringe because I know confusion is likely coming...
