My gosh the 40+ years of watching the Rams Draft and the unbelievable stupid picks over the years especially when they had high draft picks and wasted many. But next years draft I can honestly say after so many years the Rams are in a position to pick up some very good talent and with people who I know will fill the spots to make next years team a contender. This Rams team if you really look makes me laugh a little because of the number of " KIDS" that are on this team and are beginning to come into there own. I talked to TJ McDonalds Uncle today and as we were discussing the Youngsters he stated that TJ and the other "Kids" are all coming up together as though they have all come from one college together and are bonding together. The Rams are not that far off from contending and I see a team that with the draft will solidify both sides of the ball and then watch out! What is even more outstanding is that with the Rams being so young they will be playing together for awhile Offense and Defense. 2014 season has some real possibilities.

Great post...Have to agree for the most part. Fisher and Snead are doing a great job at assembling a roster of young talent with serious possibilities. My only problem is that we were promised a "dream team" of coaches, which we certainly don't have if you look at our OC and DC.

As of late, our drafting has been more positive than negative. Through the years it seems as though our drafting hasn't improved anything. But we aren't the only team that cant draft, but it seems as though certain teams just seem to get it right every year. Anyways lets just hope we hit the nail on the head in the 2014 draft. Maybe by 2015 we will be picking in the 25-32 area instead of the top 10!

I have no problem with drafting good players, but at the same time each year, we get younger and younger. So that means rookies on top of rookies on top of rookies; who are they going to learn from?

There are still vets on this team that they can learn from. Look at the beginning of the season compared to now, penalties and dumb mistakes cost us at least 2 games. The last 4 to 5 weeks they've been playing like a real NFL team with the occasional hiccup. It can only get better from here. Plus Im sure they'll sprinkle in a vet or two in the offseason for needed depth or to fill one of the glaring holes on the roster.

Rams hitting a home run with Stacey was huge as thats one need the Rams will not need. I thought heading into the season they would be looking for a RB as Richardson was IMO not a guy to be a #1 back.

Fisher built a strong team in Tenn. so I have more expectations that he knows what he is doing than say Davis out in Oakland.

So who goes to the Rams with the #1 pick, Thank Shanahan for that epic blunder!

Clayton - The draft simulator was fast and fun. As usual, you don't know how the other teams are going to draft. So, here's how my first attempt went:

1 - OT - Jake Matthews - Texas A&M
1 - CB - Darqueze Dennard - Michigan State
2 - DT - Ra'shede Hageman - Minnesota
3 - FS - Craig Loston = LSU
4 - LB - Carl Bradford - Arizona State
5 - WR - Mike Davis - Texas
6 - QB - Braxton Miller - Ohio State
7 - OG - Kadeem Edwards - Tennessee State

I tried the draft simulator again and found that it is wildly inconsistent with its picks for the other teams 10 minutes after I completed my first attempt.

For example, in the first round of my second attempt I seloected OT Jake matthews with our first pick. the computer had Derek Carr going to the Browns at #4 and Blake Bortles with the very next pick. Darqueze Dennard was not available for the Rams next pick as he was in my first draft. Who was available for the Rams second first round pick:

Teddy Bridgewater
Sammy Watkins

Totally unrealistic!!!

Oh, I know its not perfect. I had one with Bridgewater and Clowney both going to the Rams. They need to tier the first round.

I like your picks. Gaines from Missouri would be someone the Rams will have scouted heavily.

Put this on the wrong thread.

This is my first mock. Sweet site Clayton! I tried to how long the OTs would last. This guy from Nevada is similar too Lewan from michigan. Even the safety from Wyoming is a beast!

I think the main thing I got from that site is that this is a deep WR draft and not a very deep CB draft.

I am totally addicted to that damm thing... here is my latest shot at it... full 7 rounds:

2
OT JAKE MATTHEWS
TEXAS A&M
15
WR MARQISE LEE
USC
46
S CRAIG LOSTON
LSU
77
OLB ADRIAN HUBBARD
ALABAMA
108
QB DAVID FALES
SAN JOSE STATE
143
DT CALVIN BARNETT
OKLAHOMA STATE
174
CB PIERRE DESIR
LINDENWOOD
205
OG JON HALAPIO
FLORIDA

only problem with it is that it does not have us with 2 7th round picks... I would go with Antonio Andrews, RB from Western Kentucky there.

Watch San Fran take DeAnthony thomas in the 3rd/4th round.

And KSU... I thought you said we had enough 6' WRs? lol

And what about this QB from San Jose st? Why do you like him.. Kid from lindenwood has speed?

I know you go homer on me every year with a few picks..
Drafting is addicting tho.

Yeah, I know I said we had plenty of the 6' WR, but problem was if I did not take Lee then the next group of WR (Robinson,Hoffman,Parker,Adams) would have been gone by my pick in round 2. In a couple other mocks, I landed Watkins or Evans...

And what about this QB from San Jose st? Why do you like him.. Kid from lindenwood has speed?
Fales is IMO just as good as Derek Carr and outplayed him when they met. Stats are comparable. Skills are comparable. If Fales played at USC or UCLA he would be a 2nd rounder this year. And as for Desir, I have watched him play twice and he is ALL OVER the field. He plays CB like a S and is big AND fast. Rumor is 4.29 40 but we will see at the combine

It is... I am here in the palatial Y98 studio all by myself... it is a serious cure for boredom!
