How about S Carolina finishing #4. Impressive. I dont remember a team that didnt play in a BCS bowl finishing so high.

A testament as to why more than 2 teams per conference in the new CFP/BCS is a great idea.

If we want the best teams in these games they shouldnt cap the # of teams in the CFP/BCS games.

Not sure I see it. Losses to Georgia and Tennessee. 3 nice wins, though Mizzu gets discounted for playing the back-up.

Yep. Definitely top ten, not top five.

I don't care how many injuries Georgia suffered later in the season; we still should have beaten them at full strength. You don't lose to teams that have five to seven losses and get ranked top five at the end of the year.

Still a great season and a terrific three-year run.

I think its OK to leave Aubie at #2. That was a great game last night. I wouldn't be upset if Michy St and Aubie were flip-flopped though either.

Stanford played a great game and dropped 7 spots.

They lost to a Big Ten team and they are not an SEC team so that is 5 spots right there. Also their 3rd loss and this is the only one to a ranked team I believe.

It's never good to lose to a team that lost to ND. :2cents:

ESPN proposed format is top 3 sec teams and an at large (preferrably an fcs team not tied up by the fcs playoff).

Losing by 14 to a team that lost to Ole Miss and Georgia is perfectly awesome though.

I see FSU at #1

All others are #2 or lower, and thus irrelevant.

You guys make this so hard ... they have 3 losses. You aren't going to get ranked in front of 2 loss teams, especially when one of your losses is to Utah. Stanford is right where they should be.

Yeah, because using the transitive property in evaluating teams is so helpful. :L

So should a two loss team be ranked ahead of a one loss team, especially when one of those losses is LSU?

I would have had no problem with MSU being in front of Auburn.

Now is this evidence of Michigan State hate or Big Ten hate for the first and only time that a team loses in the national title game and doesn't drop in the rankings?

Meh. I don't think there's much that separates the top 4 teams at this point but the B1G had some crappy teams this year. One of them gave the only team Auburn lost to all they could handle but whatever. Sparty beat everybody on their schedule, except the Irish, by double digits then went out west and beat a good Stanford team. I think they should be #2, but it's hard to beat that SEC love.
