How in the hell did these come out so quick? Is there a rule that #1 and #2 stay in either one of those positions and they just vote on the rest and then release the rankings the NCG?

No almost always the number 2 team drops to around 3 or 4 but Auburn is an SEC team so they get an automatic two spot bump so they stay at #2.

THey are out right after game generally.

And no, this is the first time in years that the NATTY loser is #2.

I was very surprised to not see MSU #2.

I think its OK to leave Aubie at #2. That was a great game last night. I wouldn't be upset if Michy St and Aubie were flip-flopped though either.

How about S Carolina finishing #4. Impressive. I dont remember a team that didnt play in a BCS bowl finishing so high.

A testament as to why more than 2 teams per conference in the new CFP/BCS is a great idea.

If we want the best teams in these games they shouldnt cap the # of teams in the CFP/BCS games.

Ya, an argument for both could be made for that #2 spot.

I don't know. After watching the bowls I think if all the top ten teams played each other it would be .500 result for most of them. Not really a lot of separation in them this year. Though to see OU that high after the way they started the season is great. :D

Now is this evidence of Michigan State hate or Big Ten hate for the first and only time that a team loses in the national title game and doesn't drop in the rankings?

interesting that it is a SEC team that lost the NATTY and they are the first in years to lose that game and end up #2.

With that said. I think once again, either Auby or MSU could make valid arguments for #2.

Spartans got jobbed. That's horse excrement.

I understand that Auburn played the #1, undefeated team, but they lost.

Also Carolina is a tad high, IMO. I'd put them behind Oklahoma and maybe Missouri, despite the head-to-head win.
