You need to build what you think is a 100 win team so even in the dissapointing 90+ win seasons you are still a post season contender

Lots of clubs consistently doing just that, which is why October baseball has a bunch of familiar faces on the fields

That’s ideal but it appears Jerry wants to do in house which with all of the young guys but you can’t really project what a bunch of young guys will do. Problem is that the next group of hitters aren’t going to in Seattle for at least 2 years.

Jerry had a great plan a couple of years back, but he struck out on 3 guys. Kyle Lewis, Evan White and Marcus Semien were all suppose to be starters this year but obviously two aren’t playing and Seattle wouldn’t match Texas. IMO Jerry has the same problem that Scott has. He has a set plan and doesn’t know what to do when things dont go according to plan so just stick with the same thing. With all due respect to Scott, it is embarrassing that he ran out Haggerty and Caballero in a must win game. Could argue for Moore if Teo had to DH. Jerry thought so little of Caballero and Haggerty that he traded his best bullpen arm yet somehow they can start in a must win game.

Yeah it is a fluke for sure. But they have had 3 straight years of a month fluke. Which inflates their record at the end of the year so they just go into the next season thinking if the players just get 1 or 2 more wins they are contenders.

yeah, exactly. i was only partially kidding when i said the m's PR team would find a way to turn "August 2023" into merch and giveaway nights, too.

Yep. Build with the goal of at least winning the div pennant.

It's what winners do. Under this ownership group I don't see it ever being what we do.

Scott Servais says Bryce Miller pitching out of the bullpen later this weekend is a possibility. Says Miller wanted to know “where to sign up” to put his name down to pitch out of the ‘pen.

As a joke, video coordinator Andy Bussell made a dummy lineup that included Miller’s name in the bullpen Miller was delighted, then disappointed to learn it was a fake. Possibility of Miller pitching out of the ‘pen is very real, though.
