Time to plan now for the future...the distant future.
9-16 in September. You know, the month that separates the winners from the whiners.
This is why fans were screaming at Jerry and Scott earlier in the year (and of course Jerry talked back in his dickhead condescending way about how fans don’t know baseball) about not giving Pollock, Wong or LaStella real AB’s and that they needed a DH.I honestly don’t ever want to see anyone say that April and May games don’t matter. Apparently they do because had they had any kind of consistency throughout the year, they’d take this division.
I think I made a post shortly after the AS break that no matter what they do the rest of the way, this season has been a disappointment. Really doesn’t change the fact about how I feel about this season even though managed to grab the division lead for like 2 days.
The problem is Servais, sooner he’s gone the better. Limped out of the gates, crashed and burned down the stretch.
Back to mediocrity.
firings might happen, but they won't matter. It's confirmed.
We. Have. QUIT.
I'd call for firings, but you know that won't happen.
So long, postseason. See you in another 20 years.
take a modicum of success, and bobblehead night and tshirt night the fuck out of it for a couple of decades.
I don't think...they are..fired.yet..firings might happen, but they won't matter.
no matter who they hire and fire with their idiotic symbolic gestures, this team will never win anything unless ownership gives a fuck about winning. they don't. the end.
a small part of me wishes we hadn't fluked into the playoffs last year because owners will ride that PR/$$$ wave for as long as they can without giving a single fuck about building an actual contender. it's the one thing both nintendo and the current dipshits knew how to do: take a modicum of success, and bobblehead night and tshirt night the fuck out of it for a couple of decades.
but i'm getting to a point in life where I have to take joy from this feckless frachise anywhere i can get it.
Nifty. Who are we going to get to replace Teo with if refuses a qualifying offer? I'm betting owners sphincters will tighten up profoundly for anything over $16 mill to replace him, and that will lead Dipshitzo to buy 2 "5 tool" players (by whatever bizarro definition floats around in his head) instead. One of them will probably be Ty France's replacement as well because why upgrade first base beyond that $4 mill threshold, right? Diputzo has made it clear that the only thing he values less than a good defensive (or offensive) 1B is a closer.2023 Total Active Payroll $134,463,000
2024 Total Active Payroll $105,919,000 (8 Players under contract)
2025 Total Active Payroll $124,408,000 (8 Players under contract with 2 of them Club Options)
2026 Total Active Payroll $97,062,000 (6 Players under contract with 2 of them Club Options)

And I don't want any of the dumbshits in the FO trading any pitching whatsoever. Anything they wheeler-deal for will make the team worse because they simply don't know what they're doing outside of farming pitching prospects.
Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.
