But the thing is this Dodgers series literally doesn’t matter. The Dodgers can sweep then and it really doesn’t change anything. They can still will the AL West or get the number 2 WC or sweep the Dodgers and not make the playoffs. It’s all about the last 10. Luckily the Jays get the Rays 5 times and the Red Sox and Yankees aren’t terrible.

Without question I don’t want them to lose and you’re right with it sets the tone and puts them behind the 8 ball. All I was saying they can sweep or get swept with the Dodgers and it won’t change anything cause they hold their own destiny with the final 10 games.

Yea this weekend will be a reality check for both our dugout and the fans in the stands.

I really hope they get hot and play .600 baseball these final few weeks. But sadly .600 win % may not be enough if both TX and HOU keep winning.

Best hope is a #3 WC spot I think. That at least gets their foot in the door and gives them a chance at another ALDS and home playoff game(s)

The season may well come down to the Yankees of all teams.

Jay's have a bunch of games against them the last two weeks and if they've checked out it may be difficult to see the M's even getting that last WC slot.

Their remaining schedule: 3 v Boston, 3 @ Yankees, 3 @ Tampa, 3 v Yankees, and 3 V Tampa

Those games vs the rays will be rough as it is, but if the yankees roll over and play dead they still have an easier road than the M's.

Only way M's finish above Texas is if they somehow dominate the 10 games remaining with them and win like 7 of those. They have Cleveland, Boston, and the Angels, all of whom appear to have somewhat checked out.
