Free agent FB Jed Collins is visiting the Lions.

The Lions want to use more two-back sets under new coach Jim Caldwell and OC Joe Lombardi. Collins knows Lombardi from their Saints days. Collins was Pro Football Focus' No. 1 lead blocker in 2011 but finished 15th in 2013.

I would have to believe this may give him the boost he needs. I think they give him a chance to be behind a hole buster. His biggest issue seemed to be the lean and fall as he got through the line. If he has a true FB there, he may excel and be an adequate back, even as far as what we envisioned when we drafted him: A true thumper!

I thought Mayhew said somewhere that Leshoure was getting a clean slate this year. I think he'll make the team.

My guess is FB impostor Montell Owens will not be back this year after ending last year on IR.

If we sign a fb, along with Bush and bell I do not see us carrying leshoure and Riddick. Maybe we do but either Riddick or leshoure is going to be the odd man out.

I wouldn't think so, but that's just me. Most teams carry 4 true RBs do to the very very high rate of injury at the position.

Exacty- he was too productive in his red-shirt rookie season to suddenly be of absolutely zero use. I wonder if he was benched as sort of a "fuck you" towards Mayew, given all of the reported tension between he and Schwartz?

Leshoure can not go on PS. Only Riddick can of all RB's on roster. With Jed Collins signed I can see Swarmstradamus being right about Owens being cut. He has gotten his guarenteed money and offers nothing more than ST options. Theo fits more to past schemes and should fit into what Lombardi did in Nawlins.
