Favorite OT Goal

Not my favorite, but I did enjoy watching John Stevens prance around the Flyers bench like a ballerina. Lupul's reaction wasn't half-bad either - I'd could see him on a season of DWTS.

I view this goal as a terrible ending to the game. Not that I'm saying Canada shouldn't have won or anything. It's just... not a great goal. It's a bad angle shot that our D was out of position on. Don't get me wrong, if Crosby had deked three guys or been in the right spot for a rebound after some aggressive forechecking by his team or even just beaten Miller with a shot off the rush, great. Instead, it's like the U.S. D went to sleep and I still can't for the life of me figure out how the shot went in. Was it 5 hole or short side? I haven't found a good camera angle, for some reason - the official broadcast did a terrible job of tracking the puck.

Either way, in overtime in the gold medal game, I was hoping for a gold medal goal. Something with speed or power or skill or tenacity (Like Parise's goal!). Instead we got Crosby sort of strolling up and scoring. Okay, I guess. We lost, I get it. But if we got beaten, I wanted it to be off something spectacular. Perhaps the best way to explain it is that that goal reminds me of the overtime goal in the game 6 finals last year. In both instances, my first thought was, "What just happened," but not in an "I'm shocked we lost" sense. No, my "What just happened" was in a "No, seriously, what just happened, how the @%^# did they score there" sense.

I think it was a great goal not because of how Crosby scored it, but because of the play Iginla made to create the opportunity.

isnt it about the best OT goal experienced. well I experienced that live. and even if it was fired in from center ice it was magical

Well not a pretty goal but the getting to OT made the goal my favorite.
Down 0-5 to Gretzky's Oilers this goal capped off the greatest comeback in NHL playoff history.
Ok the youtube is old and long but always makes me smile.
