I thought the bad news was I don't have a starting goalie on my roster.

Well, you did wait until round 8 before drafting a goalie and in that draft, most of the starters were gone by then.

Cold Heat got Halak in round 12, The Hockey G-Strings got Bishop in round 14 and I took Mase in round 15. Those were all absolute steals.

You could've had Halak and Mase instead of Elliott and Emery and you would've been in decent shape. There were also some options in free agency like Kuemper or Khudobin that would've helped you out.

I hope you win and we face each other. Basically, you have five backups and I have four starters...

Yea Mav I definitely miscalculated. I believed that Emery would beat Mason for the starting job and that Halak was not healthy enough to start the season and that Elliot if given the opportunity could solidify himself in the starting role. I do think that I have the best defensive unit in our league by far and if my team was real it would not be fun to play against. I however have no illusions that I could win our league and haven't since about the first month since I was never able to get the goalies I so desperately needed off the waiver wire because I was always a little too late.

As well as Mase played for us late last season, I thought there was zero risk at all getting him in round 15. I already had two starting goalies for sure. Shocked that he was still available, especially in a Flyers league.
