Everyone thinks the name is stupid. Ask any non-WSH fan and they will tell you that the name is dorky and lacks any type of creativity. Apparently, our fans think the same per the SI article attached.

I think that is a difference between you and a lot of the posters. You compare things to the worst possible situation OR something that is bad to begin with.

For example, I have criticized Rivera repeatedly for his historic and WSH record and lack of direction, but you have countered "he is better than Gruden"
I have criticized Wentz for a million reasons, but you have countered "he is better than TH".
Now, you are responding to criticism of the new name by saying "it could of been a lot worse".

Just because something is NOT as bad as something, it does NOT disprove the original fact/opinion. In other words, WSH could have had a worse name like the "Clowns" or "Morons", but that doesn't mean Commanders is not ridiculous.

The phrase that would do you wonder is: Good is NOT good when better is expected. Your arguments with Skinsdad bear that out. Most of us are wanting to compete for the NFC title and Super Bowl, however, you continue to solely focus on making the playoffs and hopefully winning a game.

That goes for Went and Rivera. You can't simply say they are better than something substandard to defend your position. Trying to deflect attention to something that is worse is a logical fallacy and does not address the original claim. In this case, the name Commanders is awful and NOT approved by the fans. That is the opinion/statement. Simply saying "it could be worse" is simply a distraction.

They couldn't use Warriors b/c of Native American imagery. I liked Redwolves the best but Commanders is not bad at all. ITs better than WFT and better than Washington Football Club and Admirals. Also 10x better than RedTails. I realize the fans didn't pick the name but im fine with Commanders and the helmets. Uni's i have to get used too.

They couldn't use Warriors b/c of Native American imagery. I liked Redwolves the best but Commanders is not bad at all. ITs better than WFT and better than Washington Football Club and Admirals. Also 10x better than RedTails. I realize the fans didn't pick the name but im fine with Commanders and the helmets. Uni's i have to get used too.

That list was phony b.c the fans werent going to have a voice in the name change. It was widely reported that they wanted nothing to so with Native American imagery. Not a law but they just were not going to do it.

they ignored the fans and almost day one RR advocated for a military name . and no the early lists didnt have commanders on them for well over a year and i posted them when updates occurred

I agree with you but the NA imagery was real thing. The team wanted to get rid of that constant headache. The Cleveland Indians changed their nickname. So it wasn't just all about us. It was a nationwide issue. I cant believe the Chicago Blackhawks are getting away with it.
