Presumably nobody cares! I can understand why, I like college Basketball to an extent, mainly just the tourney, but the old rivalries aren't as hyped as they used to be..therefore it's lacking luster..
I think SuperFlyer nailed it...nobody cares. I've peeked in here a few times when the Terps were playing and there's rarely anyone in this forum. We'll have to see how much it picks up come tournament time.
With all the one and done players, college hoops has lost a lot of interest. The best players are gone to get a paycheck, and without the fundamentals they would learn by staying in college, the pro game suffers as well. A lose-lose for everybody. Not that I don't blame them following the money, but that's a big part of why college hoops isn't what it used to be.
I couldn't stand Christian Laettner, but at least he stayed for four years. It made it more fun to hate on him and players like him, and made the rivalries so much more intense than they are nowadays.
