You know what man, going into this game I don't think that we could literally find one person that didn't believe that this was a big time opportunity for Kirk to step up his game. Maybe you're right when you say that Gruden may be keeping tight reins on him. At some point the young man is going to have to be let loose. How long can it be reasonable to keep using, "well he still has ( insert number here) games to prove himself? There are now only 4 of those left and if Gruden is indeed not allowing him to ball out he's at the point where one of two things are apparent.
1. He's doing an incredible disservice to the young man
.......................OR.................
2. There's nothing more to him than what's been shown.
Oh, I agree. And regardless who is ultimately responsible and has to take the lion's share of the blame. It would appear that at this time. We're still not close to being set at the game's most important position.
Take lack of audibles for a minute. If KC is allowed to audible. Then there's no excuse for him staying with the called play that took RBs directly into the stunts the Cowboys were running on numerous occasions.
If Gruden hasn't allowed him to audible than the question must be asked, why not?
Regardless of which scenario it is though. To me the answer breaks down to Kirk not being ready and there's no excuse for that. As while he doesn't have a whole lot of games as starting QB under his belt. He's been in the league for 4 years and is supposed to be the best available option of the QB on the team to run Gruden's offense.
